Born and raised in Houston, Texas I recall my parents taking me to Open Houses to pass time on the weekend. Little did I know it was to show me what you could accomplish if you worked hard and dreamed big! My parents being immigrants from Mexico I spent the first 15 years of my life spending summers with my family in Mexico. It gave me the best upbringing appreciating both worlds and becoming fluent in Spanish.
After high school I began working in one of the biggest law firms in Houston, Fulbright & Jaworski. This profession honed in on my organizational skills and not to be afraid of paperwork. After 10 years I was ready to get into a creative environment. I went back to school and took courses in Fashion Merchandising. Retail work followed and then a co-worker let me know about a position at an Interior Design firm that she thought I would be perfect for. I met with the owner and she took a chance on me with no experience but a hunger to learn. She showed me the ropes and before I knew it I was taking classes for design. The opportunity opened many doors and exposed me to places and experiences I had never imagined.
Ten years later I was ready to challenge myself again and thought Real Estate would be a great addition to my skill set. I reached out to a mutual friend who had recently obtained her license as I was thinking of selling my home. She suggested I get my license and sell myself! We figured with my unique background I could stage, sell and design. Triple threat!
It's been almost a year that I've had my license and despite some challenges I am happy I made the leap. The market is constantly changing and I most enjoy helping people become first time home buyers. It's such a delight to make someone's dreams come true.
When I am not working I am hanging with my 3 dogs (my pug Pinot, chi-weenie Posey and Australian German Shepherd Sgt. Pepper), reading and riding my bike.
